A positive change

An orphan living with his grandmother in Komono, in 2022-2023 he benefited from the support of CADO Sibiti, which enabled him to pass his baccalaureate with flying colors despite financial difficulties. Unable to continue his studies, he remained inactive in 2023-2024, sinking into depression. In June 2024, CERCODE C helped him to reach Brazzaville for training as a community agent. He now works in an integrated health center, three half-days a week, and is preparing for his next academic year. When asked about this, he replied: "I'm very grateful to CERCODE .C and its partner the French Embassy, thanks to whom I was able to obtain my baccalaureate and now find myself in Brazzaville. Their support enables me to continue my studies with serenity".

A new beginning

My name is Anna and I come from Tanry, a logging site over 260 km from Ouesso, in the Likouala region. After my BEPC, I had to move to Ouesso to continue my studies at high school, as the one in Impfondo is a long way away.

I'm the eldest in my family and my two younger children, who also passed the BEPC, have joined me here. Our parents send us very little to live on. So I find myself in a position of responsibility towards my younger siblings, even though I have no source of income because I'm a student like them.

Last year, with all that on my plate, I failed and had to repeat the year. I was exhausted, discouraged... until the day the CERCODE.C team came to our high school to present the project Learning for life. I was identified as a peer educator and, along with other girls, was able to follow a training course in December 2022 to develop our life skills. This opportunity gave me new hope.
