From October 16 to 17, 2025, the workshop to validate the community participation and engagement manual was held in Brazzaville, organized by the Directorate General of Health Care and Services (DGSSSa) and the Directorate of Primary Health Care (DSSP) with financial support from the Global Fund to Fight HIV, Tuberculosis, and Malaria through Catholic Relief Services (CRS). This manual aims to enable community health actors, alongside communities, to participate in community development in their respective areas, as community mobilization, participation, and engagement are the guiding principles of the Alma Ata Declaration on Primary Health Care (1978) and the Ottawa Charter for Health Promotion (1986). These principles were reiterated in the Astana Declaration (2018) on Primary Health Care, highlighting the importance of primary health care as a means of achieving an acceptable level of health for all. Through this workshop, the Republic of Congo has resolutely committed itself to this approach. In addition to the participation of institutional representatives, the workshop saw strong participation from civil society organizations.
